Large 8-leaf Chinese folding screen
China. Large eight-leaf folding screen in wood and black Coromandel lacquer, decorated with polychrome cranes, rocks and trees on a gilded background. At the top, flowers inscribed in fans, at the bottom animals inscribed in rectangles. A frieze of dragons surrounds the whole. Apocryphal poem and date by Qianlong. Early 20th century. Accents and missing lacquer, notably on the lower left and back.
